The old Pheasant Tail nymph has been catching fish for as long as I've been fishing and well before my time on this planet. It'll imitate all sorts of bugs from Pale Morning Duns to Blue Winged Olive mayflies, as well as bigger drakes and even damsel nymphs in larger sizes. Converting timeless classics to modern trout jig styles is all the rage these days, and these heavy compact flies are designed to ride deep and hook point up to avoid snagging the bottom. The Jig CDC Flashback Pheasant Tail (a mouthful to say for sure) incorporates all the bling that makes it a reliable fish catcher: some flash, some movement and an inherent bugginess. You can fish it either using tight line Euro style nymphing techniques, under an indicator or as a dropper beneath a big foamy high floating dry like a Chubby Chernobyl. We now carry the Swiss CDC Multi Clamps at the Confluence as well. These are fantastic tools and open up an endless Pandora's box of creative possibilities in your fly tying.

Confluence Beer Pairing: Enjoy an icy Pfriem Pilsner while tying or fishing on a hot day. It's a clean and refreshing brew with a hint of honey aftertaste. I've been enjoying these for a few years but it had been a while since this heavenly elixir passed my lips. Then low and behold, some kind soul dropped off a cold sixer as a thank you at the shop last week and wow...it's every bit as good as I remember!
